How To Wear All Things Animal Print Leopard And Python

Leopard Print Shoulder Bag

It is not hard to miss that this Autumn the season's trend is animal print, especially big cats leopard, jaguar and tiger. Snake print such as python are also very popular. The variety and boldness ranges from huge patterns in all shapes, sizes and colours to small delicate abstract prints. Animal prints are nothing new and are often referred to among my friends as doing a Bet Lynch. Named after the famous barmaid on ITV drama Coronation Street who had a love for all things animal print, especially leopard alongside her huge earrings and bold makeup.

I, like everyone, always have a bit of animal print in their wardrobe but nothing to this extent, as this year it is everywhere. It ranges from top end designers to high street shops and it is available in a multitude of products from accessories, hats, tights to clothes. I do however prefer to be a little understated and classy and only add a pop of animal print by way of an accessory or one item rather than wearing it head to toe. All over print and mixing of animal prints head to toe is serious overload and a really bold statement look. I would recommend sticking to one animal print, less is more as they say. Plus, you don't want to frighten small children and dogs as I have seen some python snake print trousers and skirts where the fabric has a sheen, that are way too close to the real thing and frankly a bit scary.

The one piece I will invest in though this season is a long sleeve leopard print sheer shirt. The rest of my outfit will be plain or maybe, if not too much, the vintage leopard print kitten heels I have in my wardrobe as a subtle addition. Opps breaking the rules already, I am not a cheetah, excuse the pun, I couldn't resist. For the rest of my Autumn wardrobe I will be adding a beautiful Italian leather handbag, that has been embossed and printed in either leopard or python.

Whatever you wear, enjoy, try to keep it understated and here's to looking positively purrfect & not spot and bothered this Autumn. As unlike a leopard we can change our spots.
