Italian Style

4th Sep 2015

The Italians do style better than anyone else, whether it's a beautifully styled car, high fashion, architecture or detailed quality accessories. The Italians do it with a certain verve that makes it a thing of beauty that lifts the spirit and increases the heart rate of the onlooker.

An Italian car has heart and soul and this is down to the big influence of Bertone, Mazzanti, Zagatto, Italia-Giugairo and one of the most famous independent car designers Pininfarina. Pininfarina founded in the 30's have produced some of the most recognisable and beautiful cars in the world. This encompasses not only supercars like Ferrari and Maserati but also everyday affordable cars like the Fiat Coupe, Lancia Fulvia and Alfa Romeo Brera., enabling us all to own a piece of gorgeous styling history where the design starts with the sensuous curves of the car's body to the small detail on the dash.

Italian fashion is sophisticated and innovative and a cut above although the rest of the World did not catch onto this until the 1950's when after the Second World War, traditional artisan crafts became noticed. Designer fashion houses Armani, Missoni, Moschino, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana are favoured by the rich and famous and Milan has joined London, Paris and New York as one of the the International centres for fashion, accessories and textiles. Some items of clothing are known by the Italian names for example Capri pants and palazzo pyjamas.

Style can also be seen on the streets. The next time you are in an Italian city and you are relaxing sipping a cappuccino, take time to people watch and it is evident straight away who is Italian and who is a tourist. Tailored jackets, crisp shirts, quallity leather shoes and beautiful prints with fabulous leather bags and heels. Outfits put together with ease and elegance. The saying less is more applies. Just one or two quality statement pieces mixed with classics.

Cars and fashion are just two industries that have become richer for their Italian style. Designs that are enjoyed and desired. A touch of La Dolce Vita to enrich and enhance our lives.
